The Nigeria Higher Education Foundation (NHEF) has officially opened the NHEF Scholars Program 2026 application portal today.
This remains the most prestigious and most competitive undergraduate leadership program in Nigeria, with only about 100 students selected annually from the six partner universities.

To be considered for the 2026 cohort, applicants must:
- Be penultimate-year students enrolled at an NHEF Partner University, including:
- Ahmadu Bello University
- Bayero University
- University of Ibadan
- University of Lagos
- University of Nigeria
- University of Port Harcourt
- Demonstrate strong academic performance, leadership potential, and involvement in extracurricular or professional activities
- Show a commitment to community service, philanthropy, and positive societal impact
